Happy Birthday Mom Elaine! I wouldn't necessarily publish the number, but you'll see it on the candles on the cake anyway ;-) It all commemorates a wonderful life full of memories, which we were very happy to celebrate with her.
Dawn's daughter Ashley holds the cake with Jerry in the background summing up the mood for the night, which was happy and memorable. Many of us traveled from all over the country to celebrate this special day, Dawn from Wisconsin, Ashley and Brad from San Diego, Dan and I from North Carolina.
Dawn arranged for a special cake to mark the occassion, and the 'pin-up girl' photo was a them throughout the night. Dawn even had buttons made for all of us to wear!
Before dinner we gathered at Elaine and Jerry's house for drinks and appetizers, and we were so happy that Dan's nephew Zeb and his girlfriend Brooke came over too. Dan hasn't seen Zeb for many years, Dawn or Ashley either, so it was a very special reunion for everyone involved. After visiting at the house, we went to dinner at a nice Italian place in a Casino nearby.
One of those cool "old world" places, with Gunther our waiter, authentic Italian food,
a couple of nice bottles of wine, and toasts of course to the Birthday girl. We finished up the evening back at the house, with cake and coffee and a special concert on the Sax from Jerry, who played professionally for many years during the "Rat Pack" era. It was a special evening. We love you Mom Elaine!
Wow, Lynne! You've been a busy girl on the blog today. Thanks for the album and the posts. Looks like a great time for you and Dan in AZ and Vegas. Sounds like the party for Elaine was a great success! Love you!
